Janice + Kevin contacted me from Toronto, asking if I would be interested in shooting their Hawaii wedding on Oahu. They had rented a beautiful North Shore estate, and of course I was delighted to be a part of it.
It was a beautiful beachfront ceremony and Janice + Kevin had their dearest friends and family with them to witness the occasion.
Their wedding followed a lot of Chinese traditions. One of my favorites was the “bribery” put onto the Groom and groomsmen to the bridesmaids. While Janice was hidden away in another room, the women bartered with the men, asking them for gifts and to perform funny games on each other. Once satisfied, the ribbon between them was cut, and Kevin could go see his bride for the first time.
Other traditions followed, such as the wedding and a tea ceremony.
While the Hawaiian weather held off for most of the day, some drops did fall, but were soon drowned out by music and laughter.
